How KEE Are Protecting WA’s Turtle Population

KEE Group Northern Command (KGNC) has been enlisted to help with the protection of Flatback Turtles in Port Hedland, after a seawall was washed away during a severe storm. KEE Hire has supplied the necessary machinery to excavate and re-establish the seawall, including the pedestrian beach access.

Mayor Peter Carter said “the new Sutherland Street seawall will help protect properties along the coastline, secure sand dunes, maintain pathway access, mitigate the impacts of climate change and protect our Flatback Turtle friends and their nesting areas on the beach.”

By reconstructing and strengthening Port Hedland’s coastline, together we can ultimately protect the Pilbara’s precious wildlife.

Construction is projected to last until November 2022 and the works are being carried out by our client WA Limestone.
